Reference resistive impulse voltage divider

APPLICATION
The Resistive Reference Voltage Dividers are designed for the measurement of the voltage lightning impulse voltage (LI) or for voltage lightning impulse chopped (LIC).
They are studied to be the Reference Measuring Systems for LI and LIC voltage calibration according to IEC 60060-2 and they can be used as measuring divider of impulse lightning voltage test system.

DESIGN
The divider consists of a very low inductive high voltage resistor with a very low temperature coefficient ≤ 20 ppm/°K. To increase the temperature stability of the high voltage resistor, it is immersed in oil inside an insulating t.
The low voltage part of the divider is designed to have an extra low impedance and will have the same temperature coefficient of the high voltage resistor.
The design of the high voltage and low voltage electrodes ensure a perfect voltage distribution of the high voltage resistor and provides a very good screening of the external interferences.
To ensure a perfect step response, the divider is equipped with a connection lead with an optimized external damping resistor.
The divider is equipped with base frame with wheels The divider will be supplied with transportation box.
For the calibration, the divider must be connected to a high impedance measuring system. For the reference system, AME advise the AMETest ICG-IDAS HR system – 1GS/s – 14 bits vertical resolution – 400MHz waveband.

Scope of the delivery
The reference measuring system is composed by:

  • High voltage resistive arm
  • Base frame with wheels
  • Low voltage resistive arm mounted on the base frame
  • Measuring cable (Triax type, Z = 75 Ω, l = 15 to 35 m)
  • High voltage and earthing connections
  • High voltage and low voltage electrodes
  • Technical documentation
  • Service manual
  • ACCREDIA Certificate of Calibration

Calibration
Resistive Reference Voltage Dividers are calibrated by the ACCREDIA accredited laboratory RSE in Italy. The calibration is certified by the ACCREDIA calibration certificate.
The ACCREDIA is signatory to the multilateral agreements of the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA) and of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) for the mutual recognition of calibration certificates.
It is necessary to calibrate the Resistive Reference Voltage Dividers together with the instrument (oscilloscope or digitizer) which will be used together with the divider.
