CHARACTERISTICS
The Chopping system type LIC XXX is used for generation of Lightning Impulse Chopping waveform (LIC) from 10 kV up to 500 kV.
The chopping system can be used to generate front chopped waveform and tail chopped waveform.
The Chopping unit is realized with a vertical spark gap.
DESIGN
The Chopping system is realized with n°1 fiber-glass pipe that will support the vertical spark-gap.
The distance regulation of the spark-gap is performed through a motor drive controlled from the control desk. Inside the motor drive system is placed a transducer to report to the operator the real distance between the spheres of the spark-gap.
The starting of the Chopping Multi Stage unit is realized through a power trigger board, controlled from the AMETest Trigger unit.
